White Pine trees are "conifers:" instead of placing each of their seeds into its own tiny casing, they release hundreds of tiny, uncovered seeds from each of their pine "cones."Â
Because of this, another name for these types of trees is "gymnosperms," which literally means "naked seeds."
Didn't get this one right? Don't worry! Just like other living things, there's a lot of diversity in the plant kingdom, and even two trees of the same species can look very different from each other. Identification takes practice!
